YOUR SMARTPHONE: For aesthetics or for use

25 April 2012, 13:29 Niameh Ogheneochuko Tony

I was on my way to Orhuworun road in Warri from Lagos when we lost track of our direction at Efurrun. My brother with whom I was travelling with had to call one of our uncles to ask for directions when it occurred to me that I had a navigator on my blackberry SMARTPHONE which had 15% battery left.

I immediately typed in my query: Orhuworun and this location emerged on the map and an arrow directed me all the way to my destination. We really have the world in our palms with the latest smartphones which are highly underutilized today. Some of our smartphone packs have manuals in the box or can be downloaded online.

Whichever the case, there must be a set time to peruse these manuals as they are open secrets to how we can fully utilize our smartphone. In a hustling and bustling world where everyone seems to work with 'little' time syndrome, your mobile gadget increases your turnaround time to fulfill most tasks from emails on the go to navigation to smart dialling to performing your banking transactions to information sourcing and so on.

For those of us who gathered some hard earned funds to purchase that smart gadget for high prices, it’s time to be smart because there is no time. Nobody wants to be left behind in this fast moving world so the best bet is to be fully informed or be technologically deformed.
