Yobe 50: Dark Celebration

02 October 2013, 11:12

50 futures were silent
3days to 53rd independence
The land spill blood
yet we throw our flowing gown
Singing anthem and celebrating
We opened grave
Push in the future leaders
Grave smile
Becoming richer
Can someone tell me if we are free
Or branded slaves

Rejoice, oh barren womb!
Smile the womb that never conceive
For the pain of birth
and death of future
Belong not to you

Wail all mothers
Cry you young in heart
Shed tears strong men
YOBE call for rain
Let it rain!

Senseless and wicked ones cut off the roses
Blood suckers set tomorrow on fire
They waste future leaders
Yet our leaders smile 3days after in celebration
No future.....the present celebrate
What a shame

Arise, oh wasted destinies
Gird your loins with sword
Arise! souls that have cross the bridge
Sing the song of revenge
Fight! Fight!!!
If those alive are dumb for your cause
Let the spirit kill
Let the wicked blood spill

We always pray to the creator
To direct our noble cause
And guide our leaders right
Would YOU be silent on this
GOD, would YOU close YOUR eyes as if in dream
This act must not go unpunished
See oh GOD
Destinies unfulfilled
Leaders wasted

As they celebrate the crawling 53year old baby
My pen refuse to carry their joy
My ink shed blood of grief
I would rather clap for the new month
Than the independence with nothing to show for it
Let ashes rest with ashes
And dust with dust
May Nigeria dead and unfulfilled future rest in peace
