ADSU integrity forum has accused the Mr. Sunday Joshua Wugira, a lawyer, of adopting unorthodox tactics by abusing his privileged access to the social media to attack and impugn the integrity of ADSU Vice Chancellor Dr. Moses Zira Zaruwa who is working assiduously to end the spate of corruption perpetuated at the University.
In a statement by the chairman Mohammed Zakari and ADSU coalition against corruption accused Mr. Sunday of abandoning much more serious human rights advocacy issues just to chase political shadows.
Wugira is a known acolyte of Prof. Shall the former Vice Chancellor of ADSU. The Rights group also accused Mr. Wugira of pursuing parochial and selfish ends by resorting to name calling.
Why can’t persons with easy access to social media use their position to support the ongoing corruption fight in Adamawa State University rather than distracting the Vice Chancellor?
Mr. Wugira unarguably spent ten years to finish a Bachelor’s degree program and a known political loser had a belated epiphany. And he shared it for what it was worth. He has failed to realize that his fallen godfather, former ADSU Vice Chancellor Prof. Joshua Shall, was the figurehead of robust kleptocracy. So are those who paid him to write the rubbish he published recently on Adamawa State University, Mubi.
Wugira found his voice when a group, has allegedly paid him to join issue that he (Barrister Sunday Wugira) he is totally ignorant about. Wugira was a pointer to the paucity of what was once abundant. People like Mr. Wugira are the type of dull professionals that are only so by name without finding out the truth to issues before they display their ignorance. He belongs to the ones who deceived Prof. Shall and of course 'milked' him to the bone that the Governor lacks the power to sack him even where evidence abound to his serial diversion of funds. Today Mr. Wugira, is the Esau crying in the wilderness for what he called injustice at ADSU.
Wugira was gratified to know that some people still found him courtesy-visit-worthy. And so he tried to entertain them by deceiving the public with what he was paid to say, thus misdirecting the public. He started off by attempting a denunciation of the character of Prof. Shall but being too set in his ways, the wizened sycophant failed to produce an unalloyed censure. He could not but temper his slur with a compliment.
As Wugira may not have understood, Prof. Shall’s brawl with the suspended Bursar exposed both beyond what the duo had anticipated. He recommends Shall as ``a gentleman’’. Everybody is surely one until proven otherwise. And a charge and bail lawyer is supposed to know that.
The obvious truth is that Sunday Wugira is not in touch with realties on ground. The law of evidence for which he spent extras 4 - 5 years in the university still alludes him, hence his unguided utterances. But he is not within a hailing distance of the esteem accruable to brilliant Lawyers. He has not earned the status though. I challenge Barrister Sunday Wugira to tell the world if he has ever won any case in the magistrate court before. Ordinarily, I won’t have join issues with Mr. Wugira but he is contributing to where his low intelligence quotient is not required, rather than in the court room where learned gentlemen hold sway Mr. Wugira is not known to have argued favourably to win any case before. One wonders where Mr. Wugira obtained the knowledge to hull insults at a University Administrator.
Mr. Wugira says he will ‘’continue to talk as a stake holder and leader of this country’’. He must be kidding. He has never been a reputable lawyer: and he has never shown aptitude for speaking like one. Wine gets better with age but not Wugira. He has soured with time. He faces the prospect of closing the epilogue of his life as a nagging public irritant and a fount of incendiary statements.
Why is a supposedly learned man working in cohort with discredited records to undermine the corruptions fight? The malicious attempt by Wugira to mix Dr. Zaruwa up in issues that have nothing to do with him on his Facebook post is a desperate joke by an integrity challenged charlatan (ICC).
This misadventure shows that the so-called learned lawyer does not have any idea of what the mandate of the NUC is about nor what is obtainable in the Nigerian University system. For the records, NUC does not appoint Vice Chancellors, and the basic requirements for the position of Vice Chancellor is PhD sir. So bury your head in shame.
He has resorted to this action because his previous efforts to tarnish Zaruwa’s name – through his discredited culprits, failed because they were lacking in credibility. This latest effort to try to attach Dr. Zaruwa’s name falsely confirms that Wugira is nothing but a tool of corrupt elements whose interests were hurt by the work Dr. Zaruwa did in fighting corruption at ADSU.
It is not surprising that new false allegations against Dr Zaruwa because it is common knowledge that he has been nominated for national recognition for his work. The pattern is clear and Nigerians and Adamawa citizens should be on the alert to it. But Dr. Zaruwa will not be intimidated from going on with his life and performing his duties. He will not give in to cowardly and unmanly rantings of some disgruntled elements.
Wugira has not been a valuable interlocutor lately. His previous talks have not imparted wisdom, direction or focus to national conversation. His elocution fouls the atmosphere rather than enrich it. Which is he why needs to…shut up!
Wugira needs to devote himself to quietude and contemplation. That would be an approximately fitting atonement for being the most restless apologist for Prof. Shall’s regime of plunder and of course those who have come to be faced with the realities that, it’s no long looting as usual.
Mr. Wugira needs to be forgotten! But he is a compulsive talker. He must talk. He insists on venting even though he has neither credibility nor a receptive audience. And this inevitably brings him an avalanche of ridicule. If he can’t practice silence, his children and grandchildren should buy him a gag. They are not supposed to let their daddy continue to embarrassment in the public square. Because each time Barrister Sunday Wugira speaks, he compels disrespect to his age and a noble profession.
Taking some of the points raised by Wugira, Mohammed said that, he talked about misfits and the brightest. To which group dose he truly belong? Is it not only in Nigeria that a loser who spent up to ten years doing an undergraduate program, would even have the guts to spit venom on issues he barely knows in the name of rights?
Barrister Sunday Wugira is heady with counterfactual imaginings. Wouldn’t he still be Godfather Number one had Shall not been booted as VC of ADSU? Barrister Sunday Wugira betrayed a smouldering grudge. Prof. Shall did not consult him (Barrister Sunday Wugira) before quitting. Wugira regrets that he didn’t get a chance to rebuke the fidgeting loser and prevail on him to resist the EFCC investigation outcome.
Who are the ‘sharks’ referred to by Wugira? When did he interview Prof. Kwaga to get such information? A rational mind can simply discern the fact that Wugira rants and assumes without simple reasoning. It is not surprising that a poor Law student will cover his inadequacy with tantrums. If Mr Wugira is called upon to back this claim today, I wander under which sand of shame he would hide his long beak.
The would-be preacher (Barrister Sunday Wugira) was eager to instigate anarchy in Adamawa State University!
Everybody can see through Barrister Sunday Wugira’s belated honesty. First, ADSU has never had even 10 Professors as the lying Lawyer claimed. His sincerity has no nobility. It came with no apology for his part in propping up the administration. It rather came with the elucidation of his support for its continuity. Secondly, the basic rank for appointment of a Vice Chancellor in all Nigerian Universities is PhD and Senior Lecturer. In a country where the lowest qualification into the Presidency is secondary school certificate, when
Nobody is impressed Barrister Sunday Wugira newfound earnestness. He is not just waking up to the evisceration of ADSU’s treasury under Prof. Shall. Barrister Sunday Wugira was camped too close the theatre of the riotous sack to be oblivious of the happenings. He was the social commentator who watched while the tethered goat suffered parturition.
Mr. Wugira has switched his support to Prof. Shall The change of sycophant Barrister Sunday Wugira is a lesson to current office holders. It establishes that typical sycophants are never loyal. They praise you while your incumbency can be advantageous them. This is the case with many who called his pay master 'a gentleman' simply because they enjoyed the loot while it lasted. How many have bothered to stick their wretched necks for him and his now accomplice, the suspended bursar. They help distort your perception of the real world and rid you of any desire to lay a positive legacy. The likes of Wugira should be asked to shut up by the general public because excellence and brilliance are the order of the day and not mediocrity championed by empty vessels.
Who was muscled into silence as claimed by Wugira? Examination cheats, thieves in the system or so called academics who would want the University shut down because their personal greed and power lust are not met? Or is it those who paid him that are complaining? If Wugira is truly a graduate of Law, is it through lies on Facebook that he would dig up the facts?
Mr Wugira of course would have the university which gave him a degree regret doing so because his attitude goes contrary to the dictum of ‘character and learning’ before degrees are awarded. I challenge him to come up with facts to support his claim that ‘most of the ASUU leaders were earmarked for dismissal’. This is surely pointed to who Wugira’s financiers are at one hand.
Wuriga’s latest attempt to implicate Dr Zaruwa falsely suggests that he is suffering from an ailment that may be described as Chronic Cerebral Amnesia (CCA) because he simply has no grasp of the facts.
He foolishly claimed that he met Prof. Shall and gave him some advice, listed into 5. My question is, who/what does Wugira take himself to be? An academic no good, not even worthy of being employed in the university, claiming to know the university enough to advice the Vice Chancellor. Is it not obvious that Wugira is one of those who lead Prof. Shall astray? Where on earth has a man who has never played football, couched it? Only in Sabon Dale – Mubi. Now we know who were those calling the short while Prof. Shall was in office. What a pity. If Wugira’s write up is a way of trying to amend the earlier damage done to ADSU, there is another way to do it properly. Please, go to court and stand as defence Lawyer for the Professor. But first assure us that, if you lose the case as we are sure you would, you will pay whatever price he will be asked to pay.
Zakari upbraided Sunday Joshua for questioning the appointment of a Senior Lecturer as Vice Chancellor in the twenty-first century but forgets the fact that many Universities will not tolerate a poor student who spends twice the number of years for a Bachelor’s degree. What a waste? For your information Mr. Lier, Dr. Zaruwa is not the first Senior Lecturer to be appointed a Vice Chancellor. It’s not surprising that the law of evidence kept you long in school. The claim that ‘more than half of a hundred staff with PhDs are no longer with the University!’ is pathetic. If this is a way to lure sympathy to his case, it is a poor one. I WISH Wugira could read out a list of the said PhD holders who left and in which administration. At least a name and a date of depature would show clearly that all of those who left, did so when his pay master Prof. Shall was in office. As a matter of fact, some have shown interest to come back with a few who already did.
That ADSU can only boast of one Professor is not a thing to cry about. The policies of Prof. Alkasum Abba were geared towards making sure the university produced its own and reduce dependency on visiting and sabbatical staff. However, ADSU has not produced one of its own except Prof. Mercy Olushola and Prof. Alkasum who were orinally from ABU, Zaria and the NOUN. They met the conditions including time in rank and got their promotions. What does Wugira know about promotion of Lecturers? Did he study that while wasting away in the university for ten years? Is it not preposterous that, a supposedly law man will just write what he has vague knowledge about on Facebook?
Hear Wugira….’what manner of training do you expect to be impacted by an impaired institution and what manner of character do you envisage from products of institutions headed by morticians?’ It is said that when a man points a finger at another, the remaining four points to him? What manner of training did Wugira received that made him to spend ten years doing a Bachelor’s degree program as against five which well cultured and serious students spend? It’s a shame that some people are gullible enough to even hail such a dullard.
Wugira calls on all well-meaning people - Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike, to come together and join forces to rescue Adamawa State University Mubi from the clutches of strangulation and death! I ask, where was Wugira when Boko Haram came to Mubi. If he is good at calling people to join so called forces, why was same not done on or before the 29th of October, 2014 when the same Dr. Zaruwa worked round the clock to save lives of staff and students of ADSU and probably his miserable life too?
That ‘a university is governed by rules and its products must believe in rules’, so is the profession which Wugira claims to profess. It is one that searches for the facts, the truth and all that it takes to reduce errors before acting like a dunce. Every sincere reader should make up his or her mind to damn people like Wugira who shout lout saying nothing because of crumbs from stolen loots.
