I'm using this medium to welcome the positive change that we have been yearning and clamoring for about some decades ago in this great nation. My gratitude goes to Almighty Allah who has made this positive change happen and who had transform the vision of the majority citizens of this great nation to reality in the just concluded election. Who else to do so except Him the Creator of all creatures?
He escaped the contemporary society of Nigeria from the era of sadness and sorrow, and gave us a man who has the mission to accomplish and the man who wish to contribute immensely towards transforming the vision of this great nation in to reality. The quest for a solution to the challenges facing the development of Africa and specifically Nigeria calls for a sound, systematic approach, and the capable personality to drive the entire nation to the promise land. However, challenges in the Nigeria system of government required more innovative and integrated application of the existing knowledge.
But one major problem that has become the bane of our policy is the lack of continuity associated with government programs and this has become parts and parcel of the government administration of the country, from federal level up to the local level. Every successive government comes up with new programmes, schemes, and agendas, which in most cases do not represent continuity nor complement of the existing one. Projects and policies are therefore, abandoned midway.
I wish to call the attention of our new president in person of General Muhammad Buhari to please start and complete the project that was not completed by the just concluded administration. Also, to keep to the promises made by him while agitating for the post of president, and fight corruption which has become order of the day.
On the issue of ministerial list that has become the song of the day among the top officers of different political parties as well as progressive minded personalities in this great nation. It's very crucial to exercise patience and have quality than to rush and beat around the bush. Let me site this as a good example, the US president, Barack Obama ran the administration in the best standard for some months without appointing any minister yet, the country remain outstanding among equals.
Ever since the time I began to know the disparity between the left and the right, I have not experienced stable light as we are having it now, except when I traveled to Benie Republic.
On the issue of probing. I'm in support of probing because it will deter the moral of other people who are willing to embezzle public funds and it will make it clear that it's not business as usual. Please sir, fight the bound of corrupt officers and ensure zero tolerance corruption just as you did in 1983. I could remember vividly the utmost priority of your administration then was "no corrupt officer shall go Scot free". Moreso, remember the verse of the Glorious Qur'an that goes thus "O you who believe! be maintenance of justice, bearer of witness of Allah's sake, though it may be against your own selves or your parents or near relative: if he be rich or poor, Allah is nearer to them both in compassion! therefore, do not follow your low desire, lest you deviate, and if you swerve or turn aside them surely Allah is aware of what you do".
May Almighty Allah guide you through out your stay in office. God bless Nigeria.
