Gov. Umahi suspends Special Adviser indefinitely

03 December 2015, 19:00 Daniel Akpu

For alleged unruly behavior, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has suspended indefinitely his Special Adviser in charge of Lagos Liason Office, Jacinta Nworie.

A statement by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Nweke Clement, yesterday said the suspension followed alleged unruly behaviors and acts unbecoming of a public office holder which portrayed the state in a bad light.

Accordingly, the embattled Special Adviser has been directed to immediately had over all government properties in her possession to the most senior civil servant in the office.

The governor had last week redeployed Nworie back to the state and reassigned her as a Special Adviser on Talent Development under the office of the Secretary to the state government.

The suspension of the SA was the first drastic action taken by Governor Umahi publicly on his Aides even as he had in several occasions threatened to remove non performing Aides. The suspension has created tension within the governor's cabinet as rumors of more impending sacks or suspensions are rife in the state.
