Investigate that story!

11 August 2016, 14:46 Umar Ibrahim

Let me call on my fellow Nigerians to 'investigate' thoroughly into speech made by anybody, before sharing or taking action.

Let's all start ignoring dubious statements made by people who utter them to achieve certain goals and their personal interests not for development of the masses.

Already, the whirling of false informations and opinions have been going wild on social media leading to war of words. The most terrible part we are not hoping is the domino effect, which may result to violent and prejudicial actions by the youth, or any political violence. The youths are motivated by hatred and bigoric speeches, but their gullibility won't allow them to understand the fact before taking actions.

The questions are: Why shouldn't they (our leaders) express themselves in a manner that maintain peace and absolute tranquility in the country? Why are we blindly using what they say as evidence, to attack each other whilst their children never partake in any agitation, prejudicial actions, or any political violence? Not even their close relatives!

Some speeches will only motivate people who are never preparing for vengeance, to later develop strong desire for it. There is no doubt that believing with every statement that hit our eardrums without investigation, will rev the issue of insecurity in our country.

Had we been looking at even the persons speaking, their reputation, what they've done before; we wouldn't have waste our times concentrating on trash they are vomiting.

Why do we dance to the tune of people who are of questionable characters? They contributed immensely in destroying and undermining our country. But we are here believing with them.

Believe me, some of them are very plausible. They are speaking with a forked tongue, spewing lies and unprintable statements, such that you can
hardly ignore their speeches because they seems very true. Never let any of their statement makes you obtain an enemy.

Although, in spite of their vices, they may say the truth on some issues.

However, newspapers are mostly involved in exaggerated claims as there is no veritable fact about many things they propagate. Some online media are fabricating lies to gain traffic on their websites. On the other hand, print media are portraying lies on paper headlines to sell out quickly.

Some stories sounds more like folktale than reality. Judge any story by it's authenticity not by how true it seems to be. My fellow Nigerians, investigate that story before sharing or taking action.
