Motivation for marijuana

20 May 2016, 14:56

Marijuana, which is generally known by must Saharan African as Indian Hemp, came from a tree family called cannabis sativa.

Some call it Ganja, Wee-wee, Stone, Weeds, Igbo and so on in Nigeria.

This kind of weed is commonly use by youths and Adult. In Nigeria for example, Marijuana is consumed through smoking, cooking with food or cooking and taking it like tea.

It is believed that it helps in calming depression, boosting individual moral and confidence.

This same form of drug or weed consumption according to medical sociologist is said to be so dangerous to human health; particularly young children whose brain is still developing or growing.

Some of the medical challenges that can be trace to victims of marijuana are impotency, heart attack, depression, psychiatric problem, truancy from school, aggression, criminality, drowsy and so on.

These aforelisted effects of motivation for marijuana use among young persons or adult should be totally control. Or else, it will destroy our society and makes a blinking future for the youth.

Youth are said to be the future leaders of every nation, but the unfortunate behaviours of most of our youth in taking illicit drugs (Marijuana in particular) is decaying the present nation and future; because a lot of criminality and all forms of insecurity experiencing by the country has a link with drug related matters (cases).

For Nigeria to grow beyond her present situation, it need a paradigm shift on how and manner it handles young persons with drug related issues.

To curtail the heinous acts caused by consumption of marijuana and other illicit drugs, the dealers of such disastrous products in the society should be decisively dealt with; else our society will become a state of comatose.
