There have been several reports on the plights of women among the internally Displaced persons (IDPs) as virtually more critical than men in most of the IDPs camps in the north Eastern Nigeria which have in many respects. Threaten their existence to a smooth survival interpretation from both within the Nigerian territory and beyond since the insurgents emanated in 2009.
The reports have shown that the women among the displaced are experiencing untold hardships, struggling for their personal and children survival, quest for effective medical health care, as well as other necessities required to serve their individuals need in addition to same increase in the cost of production which further raised the persistence of difficulties encountered by among the displaced camps across the sub region.
These scenarios have since lured attention of the united nations agencies, other non-governmental organization and the Nigerian Government Hence; initialing same agencies to oversees the affairs of the displaced to further boost their living standard to enrich the optimal social statutes category.
However, some of the agencies initiated by the aforementioned organization as well as the Nigerian government such as NEMA, WHOO UNICEF have contributed immensely in reporting the critical and pathetic condition of living of the women among the internally displaced persons (IDP)NEMA
Precisely, the recent report by the national emergency management agencies (NEMA) Showcases that there are over 10 cases, comprising raping, stilling, poor standard of living, kidnapping young ladies among others which were observed to have strong lasting effects more on the women who were accommodated in the various displaced [person camps in the sub-region.
According to the reports, more than 50 percent of the displaced are women among from different villages affected by the dreaded insurgents which deprived several lives and properties, mass destructions of communities and above all, making people to flee their convenient environment to safer places in looking for survival thus: women who failed under this traumatic situation were observed to be more pathetic than men who can by all means use advantage of their gender to achieve certain compare to the women who have extra demand for standard survival.
The plight of the women among the displaced is so much pathetic, despite their underestimated contribution to social development which is extremely high, ranging from delivery, child health care maintenance feeding children etc. thus; government of all level developed communities, united nations agencies and the non-governmental organizations must work to further boost the living standard of the displaced specially women who have made greater efforts to the success of our existence.
