Where is peace?

04 December 2015, 08:44 Adigun Temitope

I woke up this morning at peace, when who I was yesterday and where I was going began to turn me into pieces

Peace! Please, take anything from me, But don't try to take my sunshine

Here we are!

The rhythms of peace, have imprisoned the eyes of our land

Men have been butchered, scattered under the umbrella and broom of change

We are blind to see peace

But being blind does not mean we are deaf to hearing the cry of innocent souls

Though they are innumerable, their sprinkled blood on our streets, we smell everyday we pass by

Where are thou, O! you peace?

Is it in the heart of those who neither know love nor truth, those who eat the flesh of innocent myopic bodies and drink their bloods for refreshment?

Maybe, in the hut of the Shekaus' in the North, who makes bombing their communal day-to-day activities, playing to the tune of thousands of deaths daily, forgetting that these souls are the microcosm of this macrocosm

Is it in that so called Hos(Us)- Pi(Pit)- Tal? Where sickness becomes their watchword?

Is it in the mind of the pen of those writers who lay words on paper to cause confusion in the society?

Is it in the orphans, who live without dreaming of having fans? But they have great facts

Because of power, foolish men make statements

Our hope is in full time with harassment, some discriminated against while others are terminated

Let us all stand and advocate for peace, in a moment of silence, to those innocent souls who are resting in pieces

Living in peace is not an option, let our uniqueness stand us out among others' actions

All we want is peace, not violence
