10 arrested over Titilayo's kidnap

13 December 2012, 10:10

Oyo - The Police Command in Oyo State says it has arrested 10 persons  in connection with the abduction of Titilayo, wife of retired Brig.-Gen. Oluwole Rotimi.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Ayodele Lanade, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Wednesday.

``As we speak, we have arrested a total number of 10 persons. Five of them were arrested on Dec 11, while the other five were arrested on Wednesday.

``I can assure you that serious investigations are going on by both the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS),” he said.

When asked if any member of staff of the victim was among those arrested, Lanade said that such information could not be presently divulged.

``I cannot tell you all that you may wish to know in order not to impede ongoing investigation.’’

NAN recalled that Titilayo was abducted by gunmen on Dec. 10.
