100 NYSC members seek redeployment in Niger

28 November 2012, 09:11

Niger - Mrs Justina Andriya. Niger Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), said on Tuesday that 100 married female corps members sought re-deployment to their husbands' states of residence.

Andriya announced this at the completion of the NYSC orientation for batch C  in Paiko camp, Niger, adding that the directorate also received applications for redeployment on medical grounds.

She said that most of the corps members were deployed to their various places of primary assignment in keeping with its tradition, adding that educational institutions received the highest number of the deployed corps members.

Andriya commended the state government for its assistance to the corps members in terms of logistic support to ensure the success of the orientation.

The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Daniel Shashere, called on the corps members to embark on community development projects that could impact positively on the life of the people.

He said it was necessary because majority of the population of the state lived in rural areas.
