Ekiti - The Ekiti state government has suspended 16 teachers at Elo High School, following allegations that they were using student as labourers.
The state government ordered a full scale investigation into the matter.
The State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, gave the directives in Ado-Ekiti while receiving the report of a team led by the Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola, that went to the school for a preliminary investigation of the incident.

In a statement on Sunday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the action of the governor followed persistent complaints by concerned parents that their wards were being used as child labourers in private farms during school hours.
Governor Fayose added that the probe of activities of teachers in the school be extended to 2012.
