17 electricity towers vandalised in Kaduna

19 February 2013, 11:09

Kaduna - The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said on Monday  in Kaduna that said 17 of its electricity towers had been vandalised along Kaduna-Shiroro power line.

The TCN General Manager, Mr Mike Ezendenna, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that  the vandalism against power supply line might hamper effective power supply in Kaduna and its environs.

“We thought it was only some vegetations that were hampering effective power transmission to Kaduna but while inspecting TCN installations, we saw that a total number of 17 electricity towers had been vandalized.”

He decried the frequent attacks on TCN staff and its installations, adding: “All these may hamper power generation in Kaduna State”.

Ezendenna urged traditional rulers to help to protect TCN equipment to increase its current generation level.
