Kano – The Kano State task force on private schools has indefinitely closed down 18 private schools and suspended another 50, for failing to meet their requirements, AllAfrica reports.
Baba Umar, chairman of the task force, explained that the task force had no other option but to close down the schools as they did not met the task force’s requirements with regards to the rules and regulations regarding how private schools in the state are governed.
"We have given them all the chances for them to make amends, but they failed to do so and we have signed an agreement that we will not allow our schools to be run without a proper guideline. It appears they are not interested in operating in the state," he said.
