Abuja - Officials from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit Zone C, have allegedly arrested 18 people and impounded 36 vehicles suspected to have been involved in smuggling, National Mirror reports.
Dimka Victor David, Unit Area Controller, confirmed the development in an interview yesterday and revealed that 37 seizures were made in January 2015 worth a value of N179,523,600.

According to David, the seizures included cars, trucks, poultry, cement, tyres, soap, clothing and rice, among others.
David has commended members of the public who have bravely come forward with information and assured citizens that such information would in no way be leaked into the public sphere.
