2 die in auto crash in Osun

24 December 2012, 09:32

Osogbo - An auto crash involving a Toyota Starlet car on Ilesa-Ife Expressway in Osun State on Sunday afternoon killed two persons and injured three others.

Mr Imoh Etuk, the state Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.

He said that those injured were receiving treatment at Wesley College Hospital in Ilesa.

Etuk said the Toyota Starlet car marked BE 94 AKR was coming from Akure direction and heading toward Ibadan before the accident occurred.

He said a rescue team of the command rushed to the scene of the accident immediately it was alerted.

The commander attributed the auto crash to over speeding , adding: ``the driver lost control and the car somersaulted’’.

Etuk called on all road users to exercise caution and obey traffic regulations to avoid crashes during the yuletide.

He warned that violators of traffic laws would not go unpunished throughout the yuletide period.

Etuk also appealed to the general public to inform the command whenever crashes occurred for prompt rescue operation.
