Lagos - The FRSC on Wednesday said that two people were killed while 24 others were injured in Road Traffic Crashes in Lagos between April 1 and Tuesday.

Hyginus Omeje, the Lagos Sector Commander of the commission, told the media that 16 road crashes occurred during the period.

Omeje attributed the cause of the crashes to speed violation, drunk driving, tyre violation, overloading and other related traffic offences.

“Many motorists were arrested for prevalent offences such as seatbelt violation, not having caution sign boards and driving with worn out tyre or even having no spare tyre.

“No fewer than  1,761 offenders were arrested for 1,971 offences in the same period,"  the sector commander said.

He urged motorists and road users to drive with care, obey traffic rules and regulations and work with traffic managers to ensure crash-free periods.
