Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the driver of the trailer skillfully used his vehicle to prevent the tanker from veering across the bridge, where passengers were boarding vehicles to enter the city centre.
Sympathizers have since urged Government and the state to aid residents by building a flyover at the bridge to prevent accidents in the area.
