Adamawa - The Police in Adamawa have described Thursday attack in Gulak town of Madagali Local Government, in which they lost three men, as a foiled bank robbery attack.
The Command's Public Relation Officer, Mr Nemuel Yoila, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Yola that the gun men where planning to rob a First Bank branch in the town.
``You know the bank is near the police station and so our men engaged them in a shot out,'' Yoila said.
He said that the retreating gunmen used explosives during the encounter and that three policemen lost their lives.
``There is no civilian casualty as being speculated, just the three policemen,'' he said.
