Adamawa - 30 members of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, have been killed in a gun duel with soldiers and vigilance group in an Adamawa village, Punch reports.

The vigilante said the insurgents confronted the soldiers who were assisted by the vigilance group at the border of Kirchinga/Imirs villages of Madagali Local Government Area of the state.

He said the battle raged on Sunday night, narrating that the insurgents fell prey to an ambush of the soldiers and the vigilance group.

Meanwhile the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Aliyu Ismail, said on Monday that the Nigerian Armed Forces were working hard to ensure that the mandate of crushing Boko Haram before the end of the year was realised.
