Lagos - A 30-year-old man, Tope Ebe, who allegedly defrauded Leadway Pensure, a pension fund administrator, of N38 million was on Friday arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The accused, of no fixed address, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. R. Odigie, said that the crime was committed between February 2011 and Oct. 6 2012 at Leadway Pensure located at 121/123, Funsho Williams Avenue, Iponri, Lagos.
Odigie said that the accused fraudulently processed and claimed a deceased’s pension.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 318 323 and 404 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.A Ogala, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Nov.12 for further hearing.
