Katsina - Four persons died and three others sustained injuries on Monday in an auto crash at Hayin-Gada village on Funtua-Kano Road in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The accident, which occurred about 7 .30 a.m., involved a truck and a commercial Volkswagen Golf car that was carrying seven passengers.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Aminu Sadiq, said the driver of the car tried to dodge a pothole when he ran into the oncoming truck.

Sadig said the car was transporting seven passengers from Kankara Local Government Area to Malumfashi when the incident occurred.

He said three passengers died on the spot while another died at Malumfashi General Hospital, where the victims were taken to by a team of policemen.

Sadiq advised  road users against over speeding and dangerous overtaking.
