5 000 unit police housing project begins soon

01 October 2012, 11:01

Minna - Chief Victor Danjumbo, the  Chief Executive of  Ofra and Dovam, a firm handling the 5,000 police housing units in Minna, said on Sunday that work would soon begin on the two sites.

Danjumbo told newsmen in Minna that the construction of the proposed 5,000 housing units for officers and men of the Nigeria Police would gulp N30 billion.

He said the project would be executed in partnership with Trans African Housing Estate Developers over a period of 36 months.

According to him, no fewer 65 sub-contractors had indicated interest to participate in the project.

He advised the sub-contractors to submit their detailed work execution programme within seven days for authentication.

Danjumbo said about 150 hectares had been acquired in two different locations for the project, adding that each location would accommodate 2,500 housing units.

When completed, 60 per cent of the houses would be allocated to the Nigeria Police Force, while the balance of 40 per cent would be sold to interested members of the public, he said.
