Maiduguri - No fewer than nine persons were killed and severa otherl injured when a car bomb exploded near a military check point along Gubio highway in northern Borno on Tuesday morning, reports NewsDay.
The incident occurred at about 10:30 am
It was unclear if any soldiers were hurt in Tuesday's attack, which was blamed on Boko Haram extremists.
Borno Command, DSP Victor Isuku confirmed the incident.

He said preliminary reports indicate that those killed were the driver and passengers in the explosives-laden minivan.
Tuesday's attack is coming less than 24 hours after the terrorist group killed five soldiers, three vigilantes and a civilian
The soldiers were ambushed by the group on their way to their base in Maiduguri.
