APC USA impressed by 'King Kong' Amaechi

23 October 2015, 12:05

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress United States International Secretariat has endorsed the appointment of former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as a cabinet minister.

There was a possibility Amaechi would be screened on Thursday (today) following postponements.

“As we write this article, Rotimi Amaechi is unknown to us directly or indirectly, but followed through with events surrounding his political cycle, this secretariat can categorically confirm him as a rare - spectacular gem,” Francis John, APC USA Coordinator, said.

The organisation thus raised concern at previous postponements of his screening.

“Every member of the 21 ministerial list has been successfully screened and awaiting swearing-in and portfolios, except the “King Kong” - Rt. Hon.
Rotimi Amaechi who used everything with his God given favor, put his life at stake against the ousted most corrupt administration in the history of Nigeria.”

John nonetheless welcomed Amaechi’s nomination.

“President Muhammadu Buhari founded worthier to play another Maradonic role in the South-South politics to compliment the wind of change that befall Nigeria,” John said.

“In Nigeria today, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi is the long awaited follow-up to be screened by National Assembly, yet the Assembly is dragging its feet, aligning to sentiments and or using his case to settle scores, bargaining competence or relevance equal to performance.”

APC claimed Amaechi had become a household name in Nigeria, “attaining fame from right, left and center, similar status to:  APC Party Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu aka Jagaban – a Party Changer.”

There has been opposition to the nomination of the former governor.

He is under probe from the current Rivers administration of Nyesom Wike for alleged corruption.
