Kaduna - Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday urged the federal and state governments to work out measures to end the persistent bloodletting in Southern Kaduna.
Baba-Ahmed, who is the Kaduna State Interim Chairman of the party, made the plea in a statement in Kaduna.
"We are particularly shocked by these latest killings of villagers by unknown persons in such number and in a manner capable of generating outrage in the entire state and the nation.
"The killings in the southern part of our state are exposing citizens to intolerable depths of despair and hopelessness.
"We call on the Federal and State Governments to take all necessary measures to stop innocent blood from being shed, and to demonstrate that human life has some value.
Baba-Ahmed, while condoling with the people, urged them not to take vengeance or the law into their hands.
"We call on the communities to resist the temptation and possible instigation to embark on killing of other innocent lives in the name of revenge.
