Abuja – Nyesom Wike, the Supervising Minister of Education, met with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Abuja for a meeting they refused to speak about, Osun Defender reports.
Both the minister and Dr. Nasir Fagee, the president of the ASUU, declined to talk about the meeting, which barely lasted an hour, to the media.
The ASUU also met with the Vice-President, Namadi Sambo, at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja but neither party commented on what was discussed.
Frustration with the ongoing strike has reached a flaming intensity with Nigerians speaking out on social media about the stalemate between the Federal Government and the ASUU.
Timothy Adisa commented on News24 Nigeria's Facebook page: "I have not seen a government that is so desperate to jeopardise the future of our youth leaders of tomorrow."
