Abuja - Nigerian Police at the weekend rescued a seven-year-old pupil who was abducted a week ago.
Williams Ebele, the minor, was abducted on June 10 at the Matter Day Primary School in Ogoja, Cross River State.
State Police Commissioner, Kola Sodipo, said the rescue followed diligent investigation by the police.
He described the rescue and arrest of several suspects as a major breakthrough for the police in Cross River.
He disclosed police recently arrested 27 robbery suspects, four kidnappers and 15 kidnappers in recent weeks.
Sodipo assured residents the police would heighten efforts to ensure the safety of life and property in the state.
He appealed to members of the public to assist police in fighting crime.
