Abia - The Abia government has summoned eight independent petroleum marketers in Aba for allegedly selling adulterated products to the public and other offences.
The state’s commissioner for petroleum and solid minerals, Don Ubani, said in Aba on Wednesday that they were also summoned for meter adjustment and sale of diesel above approved pump prize.
He said the government would not condone greedy petroleum marketers trying to rubbish the state economy, adding that the defaulters would be punished accordingly.
Ubani said they would be fined according to their offences.
Meanwhile,Tony Anyanwu, the chairman of state’s petroleum monitoring team, has described some petroleum marketers as economic saboteurs.
He said the team was working hard to apprehend the saboteurs and arraign them.
