Abubakar mourns passing of Plateau school kids

Abuja - Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has mourned the passing of schoolchildren after a building collapsed in Plateau State.

The facility collapsed on Sunday night at Abu’iman Primary and Secondary school in Gero area of Bukuru Jos South Local Government Area.

Abubakar expressed his condolences to their families and prayed for those who sustained injuries in the incident.

“I am deeply saddened to hear that 10 kids died in Jos after their school building collapsed. They only wanted to learn," he said.

"My heartfelt condolences to their families who must be going through so much pain. May God comfort them, and heal those who sustained injuries,” Abubakar said.

He called on development control departments of various governments to ensure engineers and builders adhered to building codes to avoid such incidences.
