Abuja- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Harry Agbenu Austin, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Megarice Co-operative Society Nigeria Limited, and his wife wanted in connection with a case of criminal breach of trust.
Austin and his wife his wife Mary Agbenu, a director at the Abuja-based company, wanted for obtaining by false pretence and issuance of dud cheque to the tune of over N1 billion.
“The couple allegedly used their company, Megarice, in operating a Cooperative society of over 400 members whose deposit amounted to over N800 million. They were promised a ten percent monthly interest on their investments which never materialized,” the EFFC said.
It added the couple obtained the money as a loan through a new generation bank purportedly for importation and distribution of rice.
They allegedly diverted for other purposes and defaulted in repayment.

According to EFCC, Austin is dark in complexioned and is 39 years old from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
His wife is 37 years old Gbagyi from Chukum LGA of Kaduna State. They both speak Idoma, Gwari, English and Hausa languages fluently.
Their last known address is No. 96 Road, House 14 Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja.
