Abuja elderly rescued from Nasarawa kidnappers

Abuja - Police from the Anti-Kidnap Squad have rescued a 65-year-old Abuja man from a kidnappers' den in Nasarawa State.

The lair is located at Agyaragu in  Obi Local Government Area.

“On Monday at about 3:00pm (local time), a 65-year-old man,  building material merchant (name withheld) was lured from Garki area Abuja to Nasarawa State where he was kidnapped upon arrival,” the police report this publication obtained read.

Police said kidnappers were demanding the sum of N10 million as ransom before their arrested by the police.

“Police Anti-Kidnap Squad tracked the kidnappers to a compound at Agyaragu, Obi LGA of Nasarawa State where the victim was safely rescued and two of the abductors."

Two men aged 30 and 28 have been arrested.

A single barrel rifle, charms and two unregistered motorcycles were recovered at the scene.

The State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia is now investigating the case.
