Kaduna - Three persons were reported killed and 10 others injured in an accident caused by a road block erected by armed robbers at Tafa village on Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
Mike Olagunju, the Kaduna State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Kaduna that the accident occurred around 6.45a.m on Monday at Tafa, 97kms away from Kaduna.
He said the accident involved a luxurious bus with registration number XP 120 GWK, carrying 90 passengers on a night journey, and a trailer with a mark number XA 567 DRA.
According to him, the 10 persons who were injured in the incident are receiving medical care at the St. Gerald Catholic Hospital, Kaduna.
``The primary cause was an armed robbery attack, the bus fell into a ditch and trapped three persons when it hit the trailer that was been attacked by the robbers.''
The commander stressed the need for motorists and passengers to avoid night journeys, saying it was difficult for accident victims to get instant access to rescue and medical services.
Olagunju advised passengers to supply adequate information in the travel manifests before embarking on any journey, as it would assist in reaching family members and friends whenever an accident occurs.
