Adamawa VC arrested for selling SUV as scrap

Adamawa - The vice chancellor of the university, Shall David Joshua and other top officials of the institution have been arrested for selling a N13 million government-owned Toyota Land Cruiser as scrap, Premium Times reports.

The top officials of the institution were arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday.

The school officials including the bursar were said to have the Toyota Land Cruiser SUV worth N13 million to a former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Haladu Hananiya for N150 000.

Hananiya is alleged to have used his position as former Chairman, Governing Council of the Adamawa State University to convert the vehicle to his personal property.

The university bought the vehicle on January 28, 2015, several months after the former FRSC boss ceased to be chairman of the institution’s board.

Seven days later, the car was sold to Hananiya after paying only N150 000.
