Lagos - The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has been accused by the governor of Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, of shielding former Intercontinental bank boss, Erasmus Akingbola from prosecution on corruption charges, according to Sahara Reporters.
Nigerian authorities asserted that the rogue former banking executive siphoned over N200 billion from the commercial bank he owned.
The former Intercontinental Bank chief has been accused by the Economic and Finiancial Crimes commission (EFCC) of buying properties in Europe and manipulating his bank’s stocks in insider trading deals.
According to Sahara Reporters Sanusi hinted Pastor’s Adeboye’s involvement in the TEDX talk that he gave in Abuja. Though Sanusi did not mention Adeboye by name, sources close to Sahara Reporters said Adeboye was involved in stalling Akingbola’s trial.
