Airliner warns customers of fraudulent schemes

12 August 2015, 10:30Okoro Chinedu

Lagos – Arik Air, the local airliner, has warned customers of an increase in the number of scam websites purporting to be operated by the company.

The firm said these websites could appear highly professional and some may display our advertising and accredited logos.

“Such websites have the sole purpose of selling fraudulent air tickets and in no way represent Arik Air,” the airliner stated.

The company said to avoid being victim of such fraudulent websites, customers should always access the official Arik Air website, www.arikair.com into their browser.

Arik Air said it was doing its upmost to protect its customers and provide a secure online environment for their purchase.

“We are working with the police and the fraud department to make sure those fraudulent websites are shut down and the perpetrators prosecuted.”

Unfortunately, victims of such scams would not be compensated.
