Akingbola wants to be re-tried

Lagos - Former boss of Intercontinental Bank, Erastus Akingbola has insisted that he should be re-tried for allegedly stealing the bank’s N47bn, Punch reports.

Akingbola at his re-arraignment at the Lagos High Court on Tuesday rejected the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s call to adopt the proceedings of the aborted trial.

His previous trial along with General Manager, Tropics Securities Ltd, Mr. Bayo Dada, was aborted by the elevation of the former trial judge to the Court of Appeal.
