Nasarawa - Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has challenged the impeachment notice served him through the media by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly at the State High Court, Premium Times reports.
The embattled governor filed the suit after appearing before the seven-man panel set up by the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Umaru Dikko, to investigate allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him.
The state attorney general, Innocent Lagi, who confirmed the suit, said that they went to court to challenge the legality of the impeachment process as it did not follow guidelines as stated in the constitution.
