Bayelsa - The Bayelsa State government has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to return the N1.4 billion and $1.3 million taken from former governor of the state, Diepreye Alamieyesiegha, Thisdayreports.
The state government has filed a suit at the Federal High Court, asking the court to issue an order directing the commission to immediately pay the monies with the interest, which had accrued on them.
The state also wants the chairman of the anti-graft body, Ibrahim Lamorde, to be removed from his post for violating the oath of office.
