Alarm raised as Akwa Ibom suspects attacks

Abuja - Akwa Ibom State government has alleged some miscreants were planning are to attack key government and public institutions in the state.

Ekerete Udoh, Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, raised the alarm in a public notice.

Udoh advised the general public to be on the lookout for any suspicious movements that might breach the peace in the state and report to law enforcement agents.

“The plot by some misguided miscreants to wreck havoc on the state by attacking key government and public institutions has been brought to attention of the Akwa Ibom State Government.

"The general public is hereby advised to be on the look-out for any suspicious movements or activities that may breach the peace and report same to law enforcement agents without delay,” the notice read.

He warned alleged sponsors that the state government would prosecute anyone that violated the laws in the state.

“The state Government hereby warns the sponsors and those who are recruited to embark on this sinister plot with a view to breach public peace and tranquility and create a state of anarchy in the state, that the security agencies have been put on red alert and are ready to apprehend, deal decisively with and prosecute anyone that violates the Law,” Udo said.

He advised all law abiding citizens to go about their legitimate duties without fear of violations and assured that the state government is working to ensure the security of lives and property of the citizenry.
