Lagos - The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two persons in the Iju Ishaga area of the state for the abduction and death of Prof. Paul Erie of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Punch reports.
The suspects were arrested from their hideouts in the Iju area by policemen after a tip-off and were transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, where they were also being detained.
Erie had been kidnapped by the gunmen on Tuesday, June 16, on the Agbor-Uromi Road in Edo State, while he was on his way to his residence in Igbanke town in the Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state.

The remains of the professor were exhumed from a forest in Igbanke on Thursday, October 1, where the gang had allegedly kept the professor before killing him despite collecting a ransom for his release.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Stephen Onwochei, had said the police arrested five suspects in connection with the incident who led the police to the spot where the professor was buried.
