Aregbesola presents N183bn budget

Osun - Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State on Tuesday present a budget of N183 billion for the 2013 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly .

Aregbesola while presenting the budget tagged, ``Budget of Freedom”, said it was to ensure the consolidation of government’s achievements.

According to him, government has recorded success in the various sectors and sub-sectors of the economy in the past two years.

The governor said N98.90 billion or 54.06 per cent was earmarked for recurrent revenue, N84.1billion or 45.94 per cent for capital receipts.

He said the budget would also ensure the continuity of the ``well-tested and well-intended’’ policies and programmes to ensure completion of ongoing projects and commence new ones.

Aregbesola said that 2013 budget was in line with the six-point integral action plan of the State Government and in compliance with its Five-Year Fiscal Strategy.

``The 2013 budget has also been packaged toward ensuring achievements of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the state,” he added.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that works and transportation gulps the lion’s share of N30.24 billion or 25.37 per cent.
