Armed robbery suspects arrested in Bauchi

Bauchi - The Police Command in Bauchi State said it has arrested seven armed robbery suspects and recovered fabricated revolver, pistol and mobile phones and charms and a dane gun.

In a press statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, Dsp Haruna Mohammed, said that the suspects were arrested in the last seven days.

According to him a woman is among the suspects adding that they specialised in robbing and snatching vehicles and other valuables from victims in Toro Local Government Area.

He added that the suspects were operating in some towns including Narabi, Tilde and Toro.

The police image maker said the accused confessed to have snatched two brands of Honda Accord cars adding that they were helping the police in their investigation.

In a related development, the police in the state have also arrested a man for unlawful possession of a dane gun

Mohammed added that investigation had commenced to find out the suspect’s motive of owning the gun.

He urged members of the public not to relent in providing useful information that would assist the police to reduce crime in the state .
