Auto crash claims immigration officer, 3 others

Zamfara  -An accident involving two private cars has claimed the lives of an immigration officer, Aliyu Rahama, and three other unidentified persons. The incident occurred on Wednesday.

The accident on the Gusau-Kwatarkwashi road in Zamfara, involved a Honda Accord car with registration number AJ 823 GUS and a Toyota Camry with number AJ 695 GUS.

Confirming the incident, the Assistant Corps Commander (Operations) of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Sani Abdulsamad, said the accident was as a result of reckless driving.

He said that only one person survived the accident but had sustained serious injuries.

Abdulsamad said that the injured victim had been be taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau for treatment.

He said his office had identified the relations of one of the deceased who was an immigration officer serving at the Minna Command of the service.

Abdulsamad said that relations of the immigration officer had since claimed the corpse.

The officer said the bodies of the other other victims had been deposited at the FMC morgue.
