Abuja - The Federal Airports Authority (FAAN) said the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) had honoured it with the Corporate Citizen Excellence Award.

Yakubu Dati, the General Manager of Corporate Communications, confirmed the accolade.

According to Yakubu,  the National President of NIPR, Dr Rotimi Oladele, said the event was the maiden edition.

FAAN was shortlisted among the best corporate establishments based on on-going laudable transformation projects in the aviation sector, which were aimed at institutionalizing world-class safety and security standard at the airports.

“This epoch-making aviation initiative has created jobs for the teeming growing population. Our airports are the gateways into the country and create the first and lasting impression,” Oladele said.

He commended FAAN management for its concerted efforts to ensure a total remodelling of the airports in order to boost the nation’s image.

A staff of the Corporate Communications Department, Bassey Ekpe Nta, who received the award on behalf of the aviation authority, thanked the National President and the board of the NIPR for the gesture.
