Bank's CRS initiatives to benefit law agencies

29 December 2014, 21:20

Lagos - Local initiatives to curb crime have received a major boost after a local bank pledged its commitment to empowering law enforcement agencies.

Access Bank disclosed its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives would largely benefit the agencies.

"As a bank, we know that we have benefitted from the society and thus, we believe we need to give back to the society. We are supporting such initiatives through our initiatives. We are positive the initiatives are in the overall interest of the society. For this year, we are looking at empowering law enforcement agents," said Access Bank Head of Branch Control, Abiodun Aponbiede, following a meeting with beneficiaries in Lagos.

The bank urged the corporate sector to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to curb insecurity in the country.

The call follows the rising incidents of terror in the country in recent  months.

"The recent spate of activities in the country call for collaboration with law enforcement agencies. That should be the direction of corporate responsible action," said Aponbiede.
