Bauchi- Bauchi State Government said on Wednesday it had approved the establishment of additional four fire stations to protect lives and property in various parts of the state.
The State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Bukar Bayero, said in a radio programme in Bauchi that Gov. Isa Yuguda gave approval for the project.
Bayero said the stations woulld be sited in Jama’are, Misau, Ningi and Dass.
He said that the projects would be extended to all the headquarters of the 20 local government areas of the state in the nearest future.
Bayero said lack of access road network, blockages and sometimes break down of equipment were some of the challenges of fire fighters during outbreak of fires in the state.
The commissioner said that the state government had approved the repair of all broken down equipment and the buying of new ones to resolve some of the problems.
He urged members of the public to support the ministry in its efforts to sanitise traffic situation within Bauchi metropolis.
