Chidera Nwakeze, a trader in the area, reported that four shops recently stocked with rice, beans and other food stuffs had been destroyed.

Council Chairman Victor Enobakhare suspects the fire to be an act of sabotage against the rebuilding of the marketplace.

He has also offered to donate N1 million immediately, in order to alleviate the effect of the damage.
