Maidugiri - Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for Tuesday's suicide bombing in Maiduguri, where about 29 people died, reports Sahara Reporters
A security source close to SaharaReporters confirmed that an audio recording was received in which Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau claimed responsibility.
Immediately after the bombings, angry youths burned the proposed Senatorial campaign headquarters of Ali Modu Sheriff, the former governor of Borno in whose tenure Boko Haram took root in the state.
A source told SaharaReporters the youth in Maiduguri are angry that that the Boko Haram menace took root during his tenure as governor Sheriff was widely alleged to have looted public funds that he spent on himself.
