Kano - Leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau has vowed to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II for inciting Kano residents and Nigerians generally against it, Premium Times reports.
In a 19-minute new video first released Saturday, Shekau said his group will attack the Emir as he is not regarded a true Muslim for opposing their activities.
The Emir of Kano had at the Central Mosque in Kano where over 100 Muslim faithfuls were killed by the insurgents, called on Kano residents and Nigerians to arm and defend themselves against the terror organisation.

The mosque is adjacent to the palace of the Emir of Kano, the second highest Islamic authority in the country, although the emir himself, former central bank governor, was not present at the time.
Boko Haram's fighters have killed thousands in gun and bomb attacks on churches, schools, police stations, military and government buildings, and even mosques that do not share their radical Islamist ideology. Hundreds of thousands have been driven from their homes.
They regard the traditional Islamic authorities in Nigeria with disdain, seeing them as a corrupt, self-serving elite that is too close to the secular government.
